Web and app: residence and invitation code

Gate’s web guide begins with residence and terms, then email or phone, a verification message and a login password. Available products and signup paths depend on the selected location and the live official page.

On the final signup form, check for AIKGWTFN. Do not assume every route automatically fills it. If you move into the app, verify the code there again before submitting.

Account security, KYC and deposit network

Complete identity checks shown in your own account and enable two-factor security. Check the domain, device and anti-phishing cues. This site does not collect ID documents or verification codes.

Confirm which funding routes your account offers. For on-chain transfers, check asset, network and address, and consider a small affordable test; using an incompatible network can lose funds.

Gate.com, regional sites and the referral relationship

Gate moved its international site to gate.com on 19 May 2025; gate.io redirects and existing accounts carry over. Gate US is a separate site, and new EEA users have been onboarded through Gate.MT since 15 March 2025.

Gate’s referral rules say each user can sign up through only one referral method, and no referral is established if the region you select sends you to another regional site. If the form shows a code field, confirm AIKGWTFN before submitting; Gate publishes no way to add a code to an exchange account later (the 168-hour rule applies only to Gate’s Web3 wallet).

Restricted locations and identity verification

Gate’s restricted-locations page lists, among others, the United States, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, the UK, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany and India. Do not register from these locations or with someone else’s identity.

KYC is required before deposits, withdrawals and fiat trading; you must be 18+, and review usually takes 10 minutes to 12 hours. Rejections come from expired IDs, blurry or glare-affected photos, copies or screenshots, name mismatches and files that are not JPG/PNG or exceed 4 MB. Withdrawals pause for 24 hours after the first KYC or a phone or authenticator change.

Deposits, C2C, security and VIP 0 fees

Match the network exactly and add a tag/memo where required; amounts below the minimum are not credited. In C2C you must mark the order paid within 20 minutes, the platform locks the seller’s coins until release, and crypto bought this way may be blocked from withdrawal for 24 or 72 hours. Use the anti-phishing code, a fund password, a withdrawal whitelist (trust only your own addresses) and passkeys.

Gate’s announcements list VIP 0 spot at 0.1% maker and taker (0.09% with GT) and USDT-M perpetuals at 0.02% / 0.05%. Check the logged-in fee page because some Gate blog posts show different spot figures.

Smaller assets: liquidity and the full cost

Gate lists many assets, but a listing is not proof of depth. Before ordering, inspect order-book depth, spread, volume, order types and withdrawal network for the exact pair.

Verify invitation attribution and any benefit in the official account terms. For a thin market, slippage can outweigh a fee reduction; compare actual execution price and fees at the same trade size.

Can I change my Gate referral code after signup?

Do not assume an established invitation can be changed. Verify the field before submitting signup; for an existing account, inspect its relationship and ask official Gate support about current rules.

Does Gate ask for my country of residence?

Its official web guide includes residence selection. Product access and signup requirements follow the official screen for your location.

Will Gate code AIKGWTFN fill automatically?

Do not assume so. Check the field on the official form, then again after an app handoff, and verify the invitation relationship in your account.

Do lower headline fees make small-asset trading cheaper?

Not necessarily. Depth, spread, slippage, funding and withdrawal costs can exceed a fee difference; compare the whole trade path.

Is Gate available in mainland China?

No. Gate’s restricted-locations page and user agreement both list Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Why can’t I withdraw crypto I just bought on Gate C2C?

Gate’s C2C protection period can block on-chain withdrawal and internal transfer for 24 or 72 hours. You can still trade, and it lifts automatically.
