Compare Exchanges & Trading Costs
Compare base fees by filled volume and maker share; verify rebates separately
What is the Compare Exchanges & Trading Costs?
Compare Binance, OKX and Bybit base fees using the same filled volume, product and maker fill share. Rebates enter the estimate only after users verify eligibility and enter a rate. Scenarios can be saved locally.
How do I use the Compare Exchanges & Trading Costs?
Different styles should compare different costs: high-frequency futures trading needs actual maker/taker fees, funding and slippage, while spot DCA also needs on-ramp and spread costs. Use the current rate shown in the official account, including only verified benefits.
What should I watch out for?
Rates shown are base tiers; VIP levels and token discounts (e.g. BNB) change the real cost. Exchanges revise schedules — confirm on the official page before trading.
How the Compare Exchanges & Trading Costs works
Compares base trading costs at Binance, OKX and Bybit under identical inputs: monthly filled notional, spot or futures, maker fill share and a spread/slippage assumption. Rebates apply only after you confirm eligibility and enter a verified rate.
What you enter
- Your market (free text, for your own reference)
- Account status: Opening a new account / Existing account
- Product: Spot or Futures (default Spot)
- Monthly filled notional (USDT), default 10,000
- Maker fill share (%), 0 to 100, default 0
- Spread & slippage assumption (bps per fill), default 0
- Per venue: confirmation checkbox and verified trading-fee rebate (%)
What it shows
- Per venue: maker/taker fees, base fee, spread/slippage assumption cost, verified monthly savings (if entered) and estimated total
How to use it
- Select the product and enter monthly filled notional.
- Set the maker fill share (%) to how often your orders actually fill as maker.
- Enter a spread and slippage assumption in bps.
- Optionally tick a venue's checkbox and enter the rebate % you confirmed.
- Compare totals; use Save on this device or Clear local scenario.
Formula
Base fee = notional × (maker % × share + taker % × (1 − share)) / 100; extra = notional × bps / 10,000; savings = base fee × verified rebate % / 100; total = base fee + extra − savings. Share is the fraction of volume filled as maker.
Worked example
Futures, 10,000 USD notional, 40% maker, 2 bps, fees 0.02% / 0.05%. Blended rate = 0.02 × 0.4 + 0.05 × 0.6 = 0.038%. Base fee = 3.80 USD. Extra = 10,000 × 2 / 10,000 = 2.00 USD. Total = 5.80 USD. With a verified 20% rebate: savings = 0.76 USD, total = 5.04 USD.
How to read the result
- Maker share often moves cost more than switching venues.
- Spread and slippage can exceed fees on illiquid pairs.
- Rebates reduce trading fees only, not spread, slippage or funding.
Limits and cautions
- Fees are editorial base-tier snapshots, not account quotes.
- Entering a market does not confirm the exchange is available to you.
- Funding, FX, deposits and withdrawals and other account benefits are excluded.
Common questions
Which exchange has the lowest trading fees?
It depends on product, maker share and account tier. Enter your own volume and maker share to compare venues on the same inputs.
What is the maker fill share?
The share of your volume filled as maker. A limit order that crosses the book still fills as taker.
Why aren't rebates included automatically?
Rebate eligibility depends on region, product and account history. The tool applies a rebate only after you confirm the terms on the official site and enter the rate.
