Bybit Fee Rebates Explained: The 14-Day Add-Code Rule and Why Funding Often Outweighs Fees
CryptoRebateHub Editorial Team
Most Bybit users trade perpetuals, where a few days of funding often exceeds the trading fee. A worked futures example shows how much a rebate saves, plus the conditions for adding an affiliate code within 14 days of sign-up.
Direct answer: for Bybit futures, work out funding first, then fees; a rebate only reduces the fee part.
Bybit base fees
Regular Bybit users pay 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker on spot, and 0.02% maker / 0.055% taker on perpetuals; the official fee page is authoritative. The futures taker rate is a little higher than at some exchanges, but for anyone holding positions for more than a day or two, funding usually matters more.
The full cost of one futures trade
Suppose you open a 20,000 USDT notional perpetual long, enter and exit as taker, and hold for 7 days:
- Fees: 20,000 × 0.055% × 2 = 22 USDT.
- Funding: assume 0.01% every 8 hours, 21 payments over 7 days: 20,000 × 0.01% × 21 = 42 USDT.
- If the account confirms a 20% fee rebate: 22 × 20% = 4.4 USDT.
Funding is almost twice the fee here, and the rebate applies only to the fee. Funding changes and can turn negative; check current readings with the funding rates tool and see how to annualize them in the funding cost guide.
You can add an affiliate code within 14 days of sign-up
Bybit’s help center says an eligible main account that has never been bound to another referrer can apply to add an affiliate code within 14 days of registering. Codes from the user-to-user Referral Program do not use this process, and regions and account types may be restricted. Look for the option in Account Info; if it is missing or the window has passed, ask Bybit support. This site’s Bybit code is 8DXZXGZ.
New-user tasks, attribution and fee rebates are three things
New-user rewards follow campaign rules; the affiliate relationship decides attribution; whether your own fees get a discount or rebate depends on the terms and settlement records in your account. Estimate with zero rebate until it is confirmed.
Do not add leverage for a rebate
No rebate rate offsets a liquidation. Size positions from your stop distance with the position size calculator, and never trade more just to complete tasks or earn rebates.
