How to Spot Fake Support, Phishing Links and Approval Scams
Use five checks—unsolicited contact, domain, urgency, seed requests and wallet approvals—to stop common scams.
Unsolicited Support Is a Red Flag
Scammers watch public support questions and then impersonate staff in DMs. Legitimate platforms do not ask for passwords, one-time codes, seed phrases or remote-control access. Open support from the official site or app yourself.
Verify the Domain and Approval
Search ads, lookalike domains and fake wallet extensions can copy official pages. Use bookmarks and verify the domain, network, contract, token and allowance before signing. An unlimited approval can let a contract move the entire token balance later.
Urgency and “Pay to Unlock” Are Common Tricks
Claims that an account will be frozen, a deposit is required to unlock withdrawals, or funds must move to a “safe address” should stop the conversation. Preserve evidence, freeze accounts, revoke suspicious approvals and report through official channels. If a seed phrase leaked, create a new wallet on a safe device and move assets.
