How to use the Bitcoin overview

This page brings together Bitcoin’s live price, the halving countdown, miner data and the site’s Bitcoin analysis tools. Use it to get a quick read on current price and network conditions, then decide which indicator deserves a closer look.

Key points

Data and limits

Prices come from exchange market data and refresh about once a minute; miner data comes from public on-chain endpoints. The Bitcoin-versus-gold panel uses a reference constant for gold’s market value and is only an order-of-magnitude comparison. Every reading describes the past and present, not a forecast.

Common questions

When is the next Bitcoin halving?

The next halving happens at block 1,050,000, when the block reward drops from 3.125 BTC to 1.5625 BTC, expected around 2028. The exact date depends on block times; the countdown on this page estimates it from the current block height and average block interval.

Can this page tell me whether Bitcoin is expensive right now?

The overview shows price and network conditions only. Valuation needs long-term indicators such as the power-law percentile, the 200-week moving-average multiple and the cycle thermometer, ideally read together. They describe historical position, not a price forecast.
